ideas:

Append only, updatable with wget -c, i.e. don't edit after posting!

Title, description, links, metadata only, not full articles.  Similar amount of content as a facebook wall.

important data: permission, date (not usually time), tags, title / subject, link, description = first paragraph of content

This is like a changelog, related to a patchlog.  The combination of URL and date (+time if necessary) can be used to identify a patch.


If the file has been edited in a non-append-only way, increment "edit-version"
in the headers.  Then clients know to refetch / sync the whole file.
